AST Agreements

The Assured Shorthold Tenancy has become the default form of tenancy for most residential tenancies. The AST can be for as long as the Landlord is willing to grant you and there does not have to be a minimum term although you will have the right to stay in the property under the AST for 6 months.

Most ASTs are negotiated for a period of 6 to 12 months renewable but subject to references and credit checks.

To terminate the AST the landlord is obliged to serve you a 2 months’ notice which we will facilitate as the Letting agents.

A landlord may require possession at the end of the fixed term as agreed in the AST in which case the relevant notice must be served on you as the tenant. We as the Landlords Letting Agents will carry out the service of this notice on the request of the Landlord.
